Formerly its own city North Sacramento was annexed by Sacramento in 1964. Residents who remember that time say it has been in decline ever since.
It is located just on the opposite side of the American River from downtown Sacramento and the California State Capitol.
I found 'I wish you would love me again' written across a fence in black spray paint by someone I do not know.
These personal and emotional words are also descriptive of North Sacramento's environment so I adopted them as the title of this series.
